Snowy Flows

In May 2017, environmental water is being released to the Upper Snowy
River below Guthega for the first time since the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric
Scheme was constructed. A series of tributary diversions (i.e. weirs) were
decommissioned to allow water to flow in the upper Snowy River. These releases
will now be part of an ongoing part of the mountains landscape. Published 02 Jul

conservation in the threatened box-ironbark forests of Victoria and NSW on
which it depends, where, in days long past, it used to be seen in flocks
